Ancient Minerals
Ancient Minerals Magnesium Bath Flakes, Epsom Salt Alternative, 1.65 lb
an unscented evening soak, foot baths, people who skip perfumed bath products
A countertop steamer with a 200 ml tank – far more steam time than a five-minute session needs.
The steamer is the centerpiece of a home facial and the only step with a plug. This one stands on the counter – 5.9 in (15 cm) across, 11.4 in (29 cm) tall – with a cone-shaped nozzle on top and a single dial on the front. The tank holds 200 ml (6.8 fl oz), which the maker says is good for 30 minutes of steam, and the unit is said to switch itself off when the water runs out. The same dial also turns it into a room humidifier or a towel warmer.
The listing leaves real gaps: no steam temperature, no recommended distance from the nozzle and no word on which water to use, so the manual is required reading before the first session. A five-piece set of steel extraction tools comes in the box; pressing on your own skin with metal loops is easy to overdo, and many skin professionals advise leaving extractions to them.
Tip: Stand it on a dry, level counter with the cord away from the sink, and empty and dry the tank once it has cooled – standing water is not something to steam your face with next week.
