ASKOLD 2pcs Sauna Hats Wool, Banya Hat for Men and Women (White and Grey)
a guest who arrives without a hat, couples, sitting through the pours on the upper bench
A big wooden two-dial gauge – the one object on a sauna wall that looks right in every photo.
A bare sauna wall is a strange thing to look at for fifteen minutes. One wooden gauge fixes that and earns its place at the same time: it tells you when the room is ready and what each ladle of water does to it. This MIKSUS board is 10 in (25.4 cm) tall with two big pale-gold dials, a thermometer above and a hygrometer below, the kind of face you can read from the lower bench with the main light off.
Both dials are mechanical – no battery, nothing to melt – and the maker says the temperature needle can be fine-tuned with a knob on the back. The listed range is 50–250 °F (10–120 °C) for temperature and 0–100% for humidity, though the dial in the product photo is printed in Fahrenheit only, and no accuracy tolerance is given, so read it as a guide to the room rather than a lab instrument. The wood is described only as natural wood; in the photo it is pale, with a straight pine-like grain.
Tip: Hang it at about head height for someone seated on the upper bench, away from the heater and the door – that is where the reading matters, and where the camera finds it.
