Active Aqua AAPW550 Submersible Water Pump, 550 GPH, 33W, 6 Ft Cord
feeding a hydroponic-style chiller, circulating a tub that has no hose ports, pumping a tub out into a utility sink
An upright one-person tub with a lid, so the cold half of the routine is ready when you are.
A cold tub earns its place in a post-run routine only if it is ready when you are. The NordPod is an upright, one-person tub – 36.6 in (93 cm) across, 29.5 in (75 cm) high and 102 gal (386 L) per the listing – with an insulated wall and a lid, so it can be filled ahead of time and left covered. It goes up without tools: eight support legs and a foot pump for the inflatable rim, and the maker puts setup at five minutes.
The box also holds an inflatable neck rest, a waterproof phone pouch and a carry bag. What the listing does not describe is a drain valve or ports for a chiller, so plan how you will empty the tub before you pick its spot, and expect to change the water regularly – no filter is listed either.
Tip: Fill it about two-thirds the evening before a long run and put the lid on – your body takes up the rest, and a cool fall night does some of the chilling for you.
