The last three minutes decide how a bath is remembered: stepping out warm into a soft towel, or standing on cold tile looking for one. These are two bath towels of 30 × 60 in (76 × 152 cm) in a fleecy 400 g/m² microfiber, each with a sewn loop, so they hang from a plain hook beside the tub. The maker says the fabric absorbs seven times its weight and air-dries within hours.

Microfiber fleece is not cotton terry. It dries by being pressed against the skin rather than rubbed, and its soft pile tends to cling to damp skin, which some people enjoy and others do not. The maker advises washing new towels separately the first time to get rid of loose lint. Two in the pack means one for the body and one for hair or shoulders.

Tip: Hang both towels by their loops within arm’s reach of the tub before you get in – the dry-off should take no steps at all.
