HSE Cedar Sauna Aromatherapy Bowl Oil Cup Holder with Swinging Arm and Screw Covers (Red Cedar)

A steel bowl on a swinging arm that holds scented water in the heat above the heater.

Best for a steady scent or a little extra humidity without throwing watersaunas with free wall space beside the heater

A hanging bowl is the wall-mounted answer to the same question as a stone cup: how to scent a sauna without throwing anything at the stones. This one hangs a stainless steel bowl on chains from an 8.7 in (22 cm) metal arm. Swung over the heater, the bowl sits in the rising heat and the water in it gives off scent gradually; swung back, it rests against the wall, away from the stones, where it is easy to fill.

The bowl holds up to 16.9 fl oz (500 mL), and the listing suggests oil diluted in water – or plain water, for a little humidity with no scent at all. The red cedar block mounts with three screws under wooden covers. What the listing does not give is a mounting height, so the clearance above the stones has to come from the heater’s manual.

Tip: Fill the bowl about half full while it is parked against the wall, add two or three drops, then swing it over the heater – a half-full bowl does not slop when the arm moves.
